Updated March 9, 2022, by Kyle Gorges: It is fitting that Raiden Shogun is the Archon of Eternity as all signs indicate that he will be an influential and relevant character in Genshin Impact forever. His status as one of the game’s most popular and powerful characters hasn’t diminished, so this guide has been updated to ensure Raiden Shogun’s rules will stand the test of time.
Best Weapon For Raiden Shogun
Despite the presence of the iconic sword, the Raiden Shogun’s usual weapon of choice is polearm. Even though he unleashed Musou no Hitotachi when he used his Burst, his damage was still partly determined based on the stats on his polearm, so it was important to equip him with a polearm that would properly enhance his skills.
|Weapon Name||Basic ATK||Secondary Status||Passive Ability|
|death match||41||Critique Rate||If there are at least 2 opponents nearby, Raiden Shogun’s ATK increases by 16% and his DEF increases by 16%. If there are less than 2 enemies nearby, Raiden Shogun’s ATK increases by 24%.|
|Catch||42||Energy Refill||Raiden Shogun’s Elemental Burst DMG increased by 16% and the Crit Rate of his Elemental Burst increased by 6%.|
|breakwater fin||45||ATK||For each point of the entire party’s combined Energy capacity, Raiden Shogun’s Elemental Burst DMG increases by 0.12%. A maximum of 40% increase in Elemental Burst DMG can be achieved this way.|
|Crashing Lightning||46||Energy Refill||Raiden Shogun’s ATK increased by 28% from his Energy Refill above 100% base. Raiden Shogun can get a maximum bonus of 80% ATK this way, and he also gains 30% Energy Recharge for 12s after using his Elemental Burst.|
Raiden Shogun has a solid range of weapons that work well for it, so depending on your team and what polearms you have, you should be able to find decent options. death match is a great option available to any player who buys Gnostic Hymn Battle Pass and chose it as their four-star weapon of choice. The Crit Rate Deathmatch stat will help compensate for Artifact’s lackluster substats in Raiden Shogun, while its passive will make it even more lethal in 1v1 boss fights.
Catch is a great polearm and one that works great with Raiden Shogun. The extra Energy Recharge it provides will not only help maintain the 90-cost Burst Raiden Shogun, but will also directly increase its damage thanks to its scaling kit. The passive polearm will further increase the potency and reliability of its Burst, which is its main source of damage. Captures and Enhancements can be obtained from Inazuman Fisheries Association (once you catch enough fish to cause an ecological disaster in Teyvat).
breakwater fin is a polearm that you need to get by chance from the game’s Wishing system, but it’s another worthy weapon for Raiden Shogun. Especially when this polearm is at a higher Refinement level, its damage output can rival that of a five-star polearm like Homa staff. The R5 Wavebreaker’s Fin isn’t a weapon that most people have access to, but if you do, there’s no better character to equip it than Raiden Shogun.
Finally, we arrived at Crashing Lightning, Raiden Shogun’s signature weapon. His stats and passive abilities complement the Electro Archon as well as his aesthetics. Very high base ATK, further bonus ATK, and an increase in his Energy Recharge make this polearm a no-brainer for Raiden Shogun. It might cost you because it’s a five-star weapon, but the results will definitely not disappoint.
Best Artifact For Raiden Shogun
Along with choosing the right weapon for the Raiden Shogun, you need to worry about equipping it with the right five-star Artifact set. Luckily this can be obtained by farming Domain at a cost Resin.
|Artifact Name||Two Piece Set Bonus||Four Piece Set Bonus|
|The Symbol of the Disconnected Destiny||Energy Refill +20%||Raiden Shogun’s Elemental Burst DMG increased by 25% from his Energy Refill, up to a maximum of 75% bonus damage.|
|Millelith’s Persistence||HP +20%||When Shogun’s Elemental Raiden Skill hits an opponent, the ATK of all party members increases by 20% and their Shield Strength increases by 30% for 3s. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5 seconds.|
More than most characters, the Artifact stats that Raiden Shogun wants depend heavily on what weapons and teammates it’s paired with. In general, you should try to equip it with ER/ATK% Sand, Electro DMG/ATK% Trophy Bonus, and Crit Rate/DMG Circle. If the Raiden Shogun’s weapon gives ER, then you might be able to use ATK% Sands instead. Likewise, if the weapon provides a Crit Rate, then you might be able to get away with Crit DMG Circlet. As for his Trophies, ATK% will serve you well most of the time, but may suffer a drop in yields if he gets a lot of bonus ATK from teammates like Sara or Bennett. In that case, the Electro DMG Bonus Cup is probably the better game.
No matter what role you play in Raiden Shogun, you’ll want to look for offensive substats on the Artifact. Crit Rate/DMG, ATK%, and Energy Recharge must be a priority. Remember that Energy Recharge is directly converted into damage for this character, so Energy Recharge that may be excessive on other characters is more usable for him.
The emblem of Severed Destiny is so far Best Artifact set for Raiden Shogun. Everything about this set is in synergy with him; the bonus Energy Recharge will help recharge his expensive Burst and passively increase his damage, while the four-piece effect will further amplify his main damage source. This Artifact set does well on many of the Genshin Impact supports, but was designed with Raiden Shogun himself in mind. If you can get your hands on this set, be sure to use it on her.
Millelith’s Persistence is a budget option for those who haven’t gotten their hands on the proper Emblem of Severed Fate cut. Raiden Shogun could maintain this buff set indefinitely because his Skill had 100 percent uptime, and it would indeed increase the offensive potential of everyone on the team. Because of that, he barely got any value from the HP bonus and Shield Strength fortification, so it wasn’t optimal for him.
Raiden Shogun’s Constellation and Talent
Every character in Genshin Impact prioritizes Talent differ according to their role. Since the Raiden Shogun was considered a Burst Support, raise the Burst level first is usually the right move. This is the main way he does damage; plus, it’s a really, really cool ability. His skills should be upgraded next because it is a reliable method of passive damage for your team, as well as the best way to generate Elemental Reactions. His Normal Attack must be leveled up to the last level.
None of the Raiden Shogun astrological sign bad in itself—all of which will make the character more effective in one way or another. However, there is a clear winner between them, and one you should aim for if you want to flex the Raiden Shogun’s power. This will be the C2, which causes its Burst damage to ignore 60 percent of the opponent’s DEF. This is a huge damage boost that doesn’t require any adjustments to how you play it, so consider it if you have a few extra Primogems.
