In the Genshin Dampak Impact 2.5, Yae Miko and Raiden Shogun are shown in sequence. The first half will have the Yae Miko banner, while the second half will feature Electro Archon and Sangonomiya Kokomi.
Although it is clear that Genshin Dampak Impact players will have to withdraw Kokomi if they need a healer or Hydro Sub-DPS, deciding between Yae Miko and Raiden Shogun may be a more difficult task. Both Miko and Raiden are Electro characters, but they have a big difference between the utilities they provide. Therefore, this article will list the main differences of Electro units, and help players decide whether they should withdraw the Yae Miko or wait for the Raiden Shogun.
Yae Miko Or Raiden Shogun In Genshin Impact
Those who are unsure whether to choose Yae Miko or Raiden Shogun in Genshin Dampak Impact must assess several important factors. The comparison of the two units here will be based on:
- Play style
- Character Role
- Team Composition
Raiden Shogun is more F2P friendly with its weapons. Players can fish to get Catch free and even have it on R5. Meanwhile, Yae Miko’s F2P Catalyst is among the malleable ones Mappa Mare, Hakushin ringand gift-event Oath of the Eyes. Narukami Guuji Temple might have more options, but that weapon didn’t perform as well as The Catch in Raiden Shogun.
As for their best slot weapon, the Raiden Shogun used Crashing Lightning and Yae Miko brought Kagura’s Truth. Together, the characters have weapons that are locked behind a weapon banner and players must wait until they are displayed to get them.
In terms of weapon value, Engulfing Lightning was a formidable weapon for many Polearm users, especially those who excelled in support roles. Meanwhile, Verity Kagura is very special, and (so far), only Yae Miko can fully take advantage of it.
Although the Raiden Shogun had his own set of Artifacts, The Symbol of the Disconnected Destinyhe still manages to do amazing with other sets, like 2-Noble Duty and 2-thunderous anger. On the other hand, Yae Miko didn’t have her own set of Artifacts. Instead, he needed a 2-piece mix between Thundering Fury Final Gladiator Memories of Shimenawa and Traveling Group.
Raiden Shogun and Yae Miko are both Electro units, but their playstyles are very different. Yae Miko can easily be an off-field DPS, where her Fox Turret will deal most of the damage. Then, whenever his Elemental Burst was ready, he could join the field, cast it, and leave.
As for the Raiden Shogun, his off-field damage was almost non-existent. Instead, Electro Archon offers a supportive buff with his Elemental Skills and when he casts Musou Isshin (Elemental Burst), Raiden can deal massive damage while regenerating the team’s Energy. Note that he needs seven seconds of field time for this job.
Both Yae Miko and Raiden Shogun can be considered as Sub-DPS in Genshin Dampak Impact. But their roles are different. Raiden Shogun’s supporting abilities allow him to be useful to many other characters, even Yae Miko herself.
In contrast, Yae Miko focused exclusively on dealing damage without offering her team any buffs or support. So if players wanted Miko as a support, they had to provide her support equipment.
Raiden Shogun can fit in most team compositions in Genshin Dampak Impact. She is great with Physical units like Eula or Rosaria. The most mainstream composition, “National Team”, consists of Raiden Shogun, Xiangling, Xingqiu, and Bennett.
Meanwhile, Yae Miko was currently enveloped by another unit of Lightning Release. No team could shine brighter with Miko that hasn’t shined with the other Electro characters. For example, Yae Miko can still support Eula by helping her trigger Superconduct, but she can’t meet the needs of her second battery. Kitsune also doesn’t have the power to increase Eula’s Burst damage.
Verdict: Raiden Shogun or Yae Miko
In short, players must withdraw the Yae Miko if they:
- Able to draw for Kagura’s Verity, or have The Widsith.
- Can build it with the mentioned Artifact set.
- Requires exclusive Sub-DPS from damage.
- Can pair it with a character that can increase its abilities.
On the other hand, Travelers should wait for Raiden Shogun if they:
- Able to draw for Engulfing Lightning or will get/have R5 The Catch.
- Have or will farm 4-Emblem of Severed Fate.
- Requires Electro Sub-DPS, Battery, and Burst-damage buff.
- Do not want to bother with the composition of the team.
