Chinese developer miHoYo wants to invest his well-earned Genshin Impact money into a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.

The miHoYo game developer has been around since 2012, but Genshin Dampak Impact and its success was sure to be a turning point for the studio. In the first year of the game’s existence, many reports had revealed that Genshin Dampak Impact earned around $2 billion just from the mobile version, and since then the game has expanded to multiple platforms.

According to Pandaily, miHoYo has joined forces with NIO Capital, a Chinese investment firm, to lead a $65 million funding for the development of nuclear fusion science. More precisely, the money will go directly to making miniature tokamaks, which are magnetic confinement devices developed to control the power of thermonuclear fusion.
MiHoYo is a developer based in China and this research will definitely increase the country’s chances of achieving its goal of achieving carbon neutrality in the future. This is just one of the developer’s investments in technology research. Last year helped Shanghai University School of Medicine to set up a brain-computer interface technology laboratory that will focus on depression treatment and neuromodulation therapy, among others.
