A group of Genshin Impact players are discussing the pros and cons of miHoYo adding an elevator to the player’s home via the Serenitea Pot.
Since Genshin Dampak Impact update 1.5, players can build and customize their own home in the Serenitea Pot. Also known as Teapot, Housing, Homeland, and Nature Within, these spaces allow players to build elaborate houses and share designs with friends. Now, one new feature added to the Serenitea Pot, the elevator system, has a number of Genshin Dampak Impact players are very excited.
The Serenitea Pot contains a gadget of the same name that can be obtained after the player reaches Adventure Rank 28 and completes the Archon Quest “A New Star Approaches”. After completing these two steps, the quest “A Teapot to Call Home” will be unlocked. After obtaining the Serenitea Pot, players can activate it by placing it on a flat surface and entering the Teapot.

Arrival of player housing in Genshin Dampak Impact has been attracting attention, but Redditor heavycloudss8 recently started a new discussion by featuring the addition of an elevator. In the Genshin Dampak Impact, this elevator takes the form of a floating, glowing platform that rises rapidly through the air when triggered. Disabling the lift seems to happen more or less automatically, but it takes a while. The elevator platform itself sits in the center of four small pillars when not in use.
Heavycloudss8’s video shows themselves running around Teko as the new character Yae Miko and climbing the elevator over and over again to show her off. However, the video also highlights some problems with the way the lift currently functions–namely, there is no control over how high the lift rises, and the lift cannot be reset manually. This means that the player must be ready to get off the elevator at the right time or just slide to the right destination. Otherwise, they might get stuck on platforms that float high above the landscape, even if the Teapot has multiple floors.
While the lift was too high for the heavycloudss8 build, a second user noted that the lift wasn’t high enough for them. This means that users who wish to incorporate elevators into their designs will have to undertake a serious redesign. Alternatively, they could design the contents of their Serenitea Pot around the ability of the elevator. Some other users complained that Teapot needed a larger load limit to really take advantage of the elevators, while more users expressed a desire for miHoYo to let players build stairs without having to exploit the distractions.
Genshin Dampak Impact now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is under development.
